Samsung auto-commissioning is live: fewer manual settings on your next Homely install
Samsung auto-commissioning is now available in the Homely Installer App, reducing the time you spend adjusting individual settings when installing a Homely hub with a Samsung heat pump.
The feature automatically updates key Samsung configuration settings during commissioning. It joins the tools Homely already offers to support your Samsung installations: guided set-up, installation checks, personalised customer optimisation and remote monitoring and adjustment after handover.
Update your app to get started
Update the Homely Installer App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Samsung auto-commissioning was introduced in version 5.4.3.
During auto-commissioning, Homely updates a defined set of Samsung Field Setting Values (FSVs). If you’re less familiar with Samsung, these are the numbered settings used to configure the heat pump, including temperature limits, external thermostat inputs and zone control. The heating flow temperature limits follow the values you configure in the Installer App. The domestic hot water temperature limits follow the values supported by the heat pump.
Which FSVs does Homely change?
The table uses Samsung’s setting names to help you find them on the controller.
| FSV | Samsung setting | Value applied by Homely |
| 1031 | Water out temperature for heating MAX | Maximum flow temperature configured in the Installer App |
| 1032 | Water out temperature for heating MIN | Minimum flow temperature configured in the Installer App |
| 1051 | DHW tank temperature MAX | Maximum value supported by the heat pump |
| 1052 | DHW tank temperature MIN | Minimum value supported by the heat pump |
| 2091 | External Thermostat Application #1 | 0 / Not use |
| 2092 — two-zone systems only | External Thermostat Application #2 | 0 / Not use |
| 4061 — two-zone systems only | Zone Control | 1 / Use |
DHW means domestic hot water. The changes to 2092 and 4061 apply only to two-zone systems.
Once auto-commissioning has finished, use the Samsung controller to check that the relevant values match the table.
Automatic set-up. You’re still in control.
Auto-commissioning doesn’t lock the settings it applies. You can adjust them afterwards through the Samsung controller or Homely Connect Pro.
Settings applied through Connect Pro are locked against changes on the local controller. This helps keep your chosen configuration in place after you’ve left the property.
More support for your Samsung installs
Auto-commissioning is the latest addition to Homely’s installation tools. Here’s a reminder of how Homely supports you and your customers, from set-up to everyday operation.
Guidance and checks before handover
The Homely Installer App guides you through set-up, including connecting the hub and temperature node and running a system check.
Installation checks help you confirm that readings are current, signal strength is suitable and the hub is communicating with the heat pump.
Optimisation tailored to the customer’s home
Every property heats up and loses warmth differently. In Smart and Smart+ modes, Homely learns how the home responds and adapts heating around the customer’s schedule. Automatic weather compensation helps it respond to changing conditions, supporting comfortable temperatures with less day-to-day adjustment. Explore Homely’s control features.
For customers on a suitable time-of-use tariff, Smart+ adds tariff optimisation. It can move heating towards cheaper electricity periods and preheat hot water off peak, using the customer’s chosen temperature flexibility to help balance comfort and running costs. Compare Homely modes.
That gives you a useful benefit to explain at handover: customers choose their comfort preferences, while Homely manages heating adjustments in the background.
Online monitoring and Samsung FSV adjustment
With Homely Connect Pro, you can review live and historical performance data, investigate heat pump error alerts and adjust supported Samsung settings remotely.
This helps you assess customer queries and fine-tune settings before deciding whether a site visit is needed. If you work across several heat pump brands, Connect Pro also brings your compatible Homely installations into one dashboard. Explore Connect Pro.
Homely currently includes two years of Connect Pro access for installers, with an annual subscription available afterwards. See the inclusion details.
Solar-aware optimisation
For customers with solar panels, Solar Sense in Smart+ takes their solar set-up and likely generation into account when optimising heating.
It uses details supplied by the customer, without requiring live solar generation data or directly controlling the panels, inverter or battery. Find out about Solar Sense.
