Even when you are away, Homely is looking for ways to save you money on your heating bills. It may seem counterintuitive, but to do this Homely might heat your house whilst you are away. Why? Because Homely is thinking ahead. Homely is constantly looking 72hrs into the future and working out the cheapest way to get your home just how you like it. If you are on a Smart tariff, Homely could calculate that it should start bringing your home’s temperature up by utilising available cheaper electricity slots in the days immediately prior to your return. That’s because its cheaper to do so than having to rapidly re-heat your home from a lower point, in the hours prior to your return.
So, if you’re two or three days away from returning home, don’t be alarmed if you notice on the Homely App that your heating has been on. That’s Homely anticipating your return and getting your home just how you like it, in the most cost effective way possible.
